Les R. Koonce, Financial Advisor

Les began his financial services career in the insurance business in 1975. Following a successful period in the insurance industry, he founded Koonce Financial Services Corporation in 1982. Today, Les and his experienced staff provide investment, retirement, and insurance, planning services to over 800 individual and corporate clients.

In 1992, Les was appointed General Agent of Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company of Northern California and managed over 70 associates in three Bay Area offices.

Since moving to the Bay Area, Les has served in several professional and community organizations. His involvement has included the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bay Area, Mid-Peninsula Boys and Girls Club, El Camino Hospital Planned Giving Council, and the California Association of Life Underwriters (CALU). In 1993, the Peninsula Association of Life Underwriters honored him as the “Insurance Professional of the Year.” Les sits on the Board of Directors for Palo Alto University, the Jean Weingarten Peninsula Oral School for the Deaf, and the San Mateo Historical Association; and is a past president and current member of both the Menlo Park Kiwanis Club and the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.

Les and his wife, Suzanne Solon Koonce, reside in Menlo Park and attend Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. To relax, Les enjoys most sports—especially golf, running, and chasing his two granddaughters, Julie and Brooke, around.

Clayton VandenBossche, Financial Advisor

Clayton began working in the financial services industry in 2005. His focus is on developing custom tailored investment strategies and recommendations for affluent and high-net-worth individuals, their families and in certain circumstances their businesses, to help them meet their short and long-term financial goals. Depending on what stage of life an individual or family is in, clients will have their own unique set of circumstances and different needs. Clayton works alongside clients to help them achieve their individual goals through to fruition.

When developing wealth and investment management strategies it is vital to assess a client’s tolerance for risk, return objectives, time horizon, liquidity needs, tax circumstances and charitable mission among other things. Clayton addresses these important factors by dedicating his time and taking a holistic approach to the wealth management process to gain a complete understanding of each client’s unique set of circumstances.

Anithah Pillai, Financial Advisor

Anithah joined Koonce Financial Services in October of 2014. She works in tandem with Les as a Financial Advisor; helping individuals, families, and businesses with their Financial Planning. She enjoys helping her clients and in answering their questions relating to life planning and investment management. She strongly believes that knowledge is power and strives to educate her clients with all aspects of their financial planning. She says “I believe in Transparency and Simplicity in the solutions that I provide”

Anithah is a founding member of Chamber Business Alliance of Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce, and also a member of Indian business women of Bay Area. She lives in the East Bay area with her family and she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending valuable time with friends and family.
